Steve Wheen is an award winning Creative Producer, with almost 15 years of broadcast and digital international producing experience. With a strong focus on production and video strategy, he has managed projects alongside, and for, London’s Google Creative Lab - creating video content for the Google and YouTube brand, as well their high profile partners such as Virgin, Cadbury's and Heal's with talent such as Jessie J and Annie Lennox.
Completing his Masters In Design (applied imagination) with a distinction from Central Saint Martins in 2010, he focused his work around social television and creating social experiences for video. He has since worked extensively with the Google Creative Lab and the G+ Marketing team, creating live streamed Google Hangouts.
A branded content expert, Steve has worked on ground breaking branded content projects for clients such as Audi, Renault and Lancia. He was also a part of Al Gore's Emmy Award winning online and broadcast channel, Current TV.
Working for both established advertising agencies and online startups, Steve has demonstrated a deep experience in building online communities, ranging from Music to Fashion to Gardening. An award winning blogger, he took The Duchess Of Cornwall on one of his unique gardening trips as part of The Chelsea Fringe Festival.
His career in filmmaking has led to his work being screened internationally, most recently at The London Short Film Festival and at The British Shorts Film Festival in Berlin. His passion for working with vulnerable and disadvantaged groups and communities has led to the creation of an impact film for a youth hip hop charity project in Rwanda, to assisting and developing young talent at the Mama Youth Project (What’s UP Show - SkyTV) in London.
